South Patagonia

The extreme south of Chile is one of those regions on Earth where the forces of nature remind us that we are alive.

Wild and powerful, southern Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego (Land of Fire) vibrate the heart of the visitor. An abrupt, dramatic and impressive geography that still maintains exceptional phenomena such as the southern ice field with its 16,800 km2 and the 49 glaciers that are flowing.

The Paine Massif, Sierra Baguales, fjords and pampas draw the landscape, and guanacos, ñandúes, pumas, condors, whales and penguins, among others, live.

Chilean Tierra del Fuego is for those who really want to be at the end of the world. In Caleta María, at the end of Chile, there are only a handful of inhabitants and the houses where they receive us are very moving.

We recommend visiting from October to December and especially from March to April, to avoid mass tourism and also enjoy a good climate.

To visit the southern Patagonia we suggest at least 6 and up to 12 days if you want to include the Torres del Paine park, a cruise through the fjord, an exploration of Tierra del Fuego or El Calafate.
