San Carlos de Bariloche
"Bariloche" comes from the Mapuche word vuriloche, which means "people from behind the mountain", since that was how the Mapuches west of the mountain range called those who lived on the east side, that is, the area where the city is located. On the other hand, "San Carlos" came about because of a Chilean merchant of German origin who had settled in the center of what is now the city, in 1895, Carlos Wiederhold.
